Mike Borgia, finally, gets his session on TPN Rock. Recorded last month, this singer songwriter has been a personal favourite of mine since I played ‘When The Bombs Come’ back on The Friday Rock Show #52, and is one of the songs that I use in my warm up routine (which if you listened to some of the live shows during April, you’d already realise). Anyway, three tracks, introduced by Mike, from his new album Philistines and Alcoholics.
And we’re back. Honestly this time. Really. For Sure. Not going to have server problems in May. No sirreee… The only problem at the moment is a backlog of cracking tunes to play, so let’s not hang around, lets get started.
Another week, but we’re back on course to keep you smiling, with Rowley Cutler picking up the slack and banishing the Monday Blues away in the best way possible. As to you, dear listener, answer this question… Should I forgive Rowley for his “[Ewan’s] a little shorter than I expected…” comment?
This was second of our scheduled ‘live recording’ shows where you can have an early preview of TPN Rock’s Friday Rock Show by loading up the stream - don’t worry if you missed it, I’ll post up a reminder for next week’s time on Thursday. The show itself is definitly a happy bouncing one, and full of some strong anthems and melodies. One to clear the floor beforehand so you can start moshing away. Enjoy!
Last week, at rather short notice, I decided to stream my recording of TPN Rock - possible because I record the show as if it was live, playing and listening to all the music in real time. It’s not that difficult to do, just another cable from the recording MiniDisc (which takes the output from the mixing board) into the soundcard and through to a streaming music server.
1530 Friday, UK (Summer Time).
1030 Friday, US (East Coast), in time for your lunchtime coffee.
0730 Friday, US (West Coast), over the breakfast table.
0130 Saturday, Australlia (Melbourne), to put you to sleep.
Expect a twenty minute warm-up, the delightful sound of Mike Borgia followed by AC/DC, and then the latest Friday Rock Show… Live!!!
No, back to the programming you normal expect on a Friday, a little slice of Rock to kickstart your weekend. Back at home in Edinburgh, some kicking tunes, and a bucketload of rain outside. Oooh it’s good to be back!
Also a big thank you to everyone who ‘tuned in’ to the recording of this show on the live audio stream. I did put it together at short notice, so there wasn’t a chance to post any details here, but it looks like it was a success, so keep your eyes open for details on how to listen from 1530 next Friday (UK summertime)
Just to let you all know that over the last few weeks, The Podcast Network as a whole has been having some lovely server issues and we had to put a hold on new shows going out. The Support team (err… Cameron) thinks that the solution is here, so has given the green flag to start pumping out some Rock Shows for you all.
As always, if you’re in a band, know a band (or a singer) or just remember hearing a good burst of fun on MySpace that you think should be on TPN Rock, do get in touch. Email is best, ewanspence@gmail.com ill get to me, and don’t forget to attach the MP3!
Thanks for all your patience, the power chords are coming…
