The Rock Show #16 – Only You Can Change The World
The Rock Show #16 (MP3 – 18.9 MB – 26 min 55 sec)
LISTEN HERE
Another week, another Rock Show. All points of the musical spectrum in Show #16, from modern guitar rock, through acoustic, to lyrical soaring vocals and haunting tremelos. One thing I find strange is that I do the shows one week out of sync with all of you – so this show was programmed and mixed up last Friday, just as you all downloaded #15. So now I’ve spent a week with this six on rotation in my Minidisc while I travel. It’s time for me to say goodbye to them now, mix up show #17 for next week, and keep the power chords, ehrm, powering!
But in the meantime, I loved all these guys for some time and I give them to you. Look up their websites, email them, tell them where you heard them, and tell all your friends about TPN Rock. The revolution of rock music is happening between your ears as you listen.

“PS The show still isn’t in iTunes… Bah Humbugs.”
Actually, you can add the TPN-Rock Show in iTunes by selecting “Podcasts” from the left nav, choosing “Advanced” from the main menu (at the top if iTunes) and “Subscribe to Podcast” and entering the URL for TPN-Rock Show. It will pick up your feed and pull it in iTunes for you.

As I;ve said before, yes that can be done, but the catalouge is where 95% of the population will find a ‘cast, rather than a simple google search.

I, uh, didn’t read the other post. Ah, the trouble of sneaking podcasts in while at work…
Oops. My apologies.

[...] Okay the basics first, adding a feed to a Podcast manually is hiding under the Advanced tab with the most user unfriendly dialog box possible. It’s simply a text box with “url” as the title. In here you need to drop an address to the feed – (try http://www.thepodcastnetwork.com/rock/feed/). Great for experienced users, but not for the newbies (and there are a lot of newbies). [...]

I’d just finished listening to The Rock Show on the Podcast Network. By the way, if you get the chance, Smokestar kicks ass. It’s got a Stabbing Westward feel to it. And My Little Radio was a surprise. Their song reminded me of Josie Cotton from the Valley Girl soundtrack and – apologies to the little radios – a little No Doubt. Plus, I swear the guitar progression is straight from Go-Gos or Bangles. Still a pleasant surprise.
