John Peel was one of the most influential DJ’s that the UK has ever seen. Rather than go on about exactly how good he was, I’ll point you all to his Wikipedia entry.

The reason for the mention of “The Guv’nor” is that a number of UK Podcasters got together for John Peel Day to put together a special one hour podcast in celebration of his life, by talking about Peel, his music, his influence, and playing a bundle of music we thought he would have appreciated if he was still with us.
