Paul NichollsSo here we go! With Iain safely (!) wrapped up nice and warm with his 28.8K dial up modem in Bethel, Alaska, it’s time to find another host to open up each week here at TPN Rock. So who better to ask than… everyone! As I mentioned on last week’s Friday Rock Show, I’ve decided to pull back the chair to the podcasting community at large and give as many podcasters as possible the chance to do a music show.

Every week, expect a different podcaster (who you would normally hear somewhere else) take up the challenge of bringing you the best unsigned, unknown and under-appreciated music from around the internet, direct to your ears/ Expect a wide range of music, some great voices, and some cracking choices. All I’ve said in terms of guidance is “make sure you use Bleed by The Revolutions as the theme music…” Every other choice is up to them.

First up, from Birmingham in England, is Paul Nicholls. The voice behind Podcast Paul (www.podcastpaul.com), one of the organisers of the highly successfull PodcastConUK events, and a thoroughly good chap that nearly caused me a heart attack in the first few minutes of today’s show.

Sit back, enjoy, and be prepared for an all-new (yet strangely comfortable) TPN Rock. It’s time for the first TPN Rock Takeover

Great show Paul! Was that Bill Hicks are the opening of Demons? Wicked track. Great to hear guitar playing like that in 2007. Reminds me of Vai, Satch, etc.

    cheers

Cheers Cameron and Ewan. Arrgh – podsafe network rock show?!!!? What a plonker….

My site’s domain is broken at the moment, but should be fixed shortly. I loved playing the rock tracks as that’s the stuff that naturay courses through my veins. Cameron – I think that Paul has a real touch of Joe Satriani about him. This track sounded like it could have sat neatly on “surfing with the aliens” – a brilliant abum that I’ve virtually worn out.

Simon Apple are a seriously class act too though… in fact, they all are!
